Blab Translation vs Immersive Translate

For reading the web, PDFs and manga the two cover the same ground; Blab Translation is the lighter choice — web translation free with no account, your own AI key, and region-by-region control of what gets translated. Immersive Translate is the broader one, with more than 20 engines including DeepL, meeting subtitles and many more video sites.

The short version

Choose Blab Translation if you want one extension that stays out of the way, translates only the part of a site you pick, and keeps your text on your device or with your own provider. Choose Immersive Translate if you depend on DeepL or Google as engines, translate Netflix or meetings, or want a mature product used by millions.

Where Blab Translation falls short

  • Fewer engines: no DeepL, Google or Microsoft.
  • No meeting translation and no Netflix subtitles.
  • Chrome only, while Immersive Translate also has other browsers and apps.
  • Scanned PDFs are not yet reliable.

Questions

Which is cheaper?

For web pages both can be free. For manga and PDFs, compare the Pricing page with Immersive Translate's: its comic translation and PDF Pro come with Pro and Max, while Blab Translation includes some free pages every month.
