Where they differ
DeepL's extension translates a selection or a page and adds writing suggestions in Gmail, Google Docs and other sites; its free plan has 50,000 characters a month and one file a month up to 5 MB. Blab Translation puts the translation under each paragraph on any page, with no character limit when you use Chrome's built-in translator or your own key.
For documents, DeepL takes PDF, Word and PowerPoint; Blab Translation takes PDF, Word, EPUB, MOBI/AZW3, TXT and Markdown, and keeps formulas exactly as printed. DeepL has no manga or subtitle translation.
Where Blab Translation falls short
- DeepL is not one of our engines, so you cannot get DeepL's translations through Blab Translation.
- No writing assistant, and no PowerPoint or Excel translation.
